Premiering a brand new suite by Jewish composer Ari Barack Fisher, his new work will take us through the historical, spiritual, and emotional landscapes of the Jewish people. From ancient roots to vibrant community life, through periods of immense hardship and ultimately to enduring hope and celebration, "Echoes of the Wandering Soul" explores themes of memory, resilience, lament, and the unyielding affirmation of life.
As a beautiful complement, the quartet will invite a soprano to join for the US premiere of a song cycle titled “To Live, to be Alive” by Sergey Khvoshchinsky. The six-movement composition dedicated to the tragedy of Jewish people during the time of Holocaust, setting the poems of young prisoners of the concentration camp at Terezin.
